Local entrepreneur gets funding for faster Internet for SMEs in Cambridge

Jola, the Business Communications supplier to SMEs has this month opened its first office in Cambridge.

Jola’s MD, Andrew Dickinson, who lives in Cambridge, has run multiple business communications companies over the years. His latest venture, Jola, provides fast, secure Internet connectivity, cloud-hosted telephony solutions and flexible mobile solutions. The company is growing fast with offices in Essex, Nottingham and now Cambridge. Jola were selected as an approved supplier of the Government’s Broadband Connection Voucher’s Scheme and Cambridge is one of the 22 eligible cities. Under the scheme Cambridge SMEs can get £3000 towards the cost of upgrading their Internet connection.

“Averaging around £1000 per month, traditional leased lines are beyond the budgets of most SMEs and consequently they have to make do with broadband, which is often slow and unreliable. Jola is hoping to change all this, offering high-speed, private leased lines with guaranteed service levels for less than £200 a month. We have just opened a new office in Cambridge and we are helping local businesses apply for grants of up to £3000. The scheme only runs until March 2015 so Cambridge SMEs should check now if they are eligible at www.connectionvouchers.co.uk.” Andrew Dickinson, MD, Jola.
