Salt Network Consulting Ltd specialise in IT and security solutions, providing clients with cutting edge technologies. Their end-user required a reliable and cost-effective way to extend their current door entry system, for multiple offices across the country. Their existing system relied on a central server, with a costly router and broadband connection at each site, to manage door access. As the organisation added more sites, this became increasingly hard to deploy.
Jola
Utilising the benefits of Amazon Web Services, Jola created a unique 4G private APN solution. A private VPN tunnel was added to the access control central server, between the server network and Jola’s M2M 4G network, allowing LAN-based IP traffic to all connected sites. This has reduced overhead costs and deployment times for the end-user. Previously unreachable sites are now easily added via 4G. Security has also improved, as the deployment of a private APN has ring-fenced all end-user sites that require door entry authentication. This is all managed within Mobile Manager, Jola’s SIM management portal.
